Photography & travel tips from an award-winning photographer, educator & wanderlust

Bali, Indonesia

What I loved: rice terraces, inexpensive lodging, Nutella glazed grilled chicken, warung (local) eateries.

What I didn’t: pricey airport taxis, humidity, dirty beaches, the food left much to be desired, local business owners won’t let you walk by once without mentioning a service for you

Quick travel tips: get a local massage, rent a taxi for a day to take you around the island (50$ for 8 hours), visit the rice terraces for those Bali-esque photographs, go shopping in Ubud, do some yoga, try surfing or standup paddling – live a little, enjoy nightly live music in Sanur, seek out Nutella glazed grilled chicken in Canggu.
