Photography & travel tips from an award-winning photographer, educator & wanderlust

Thailand

What I loved: my most favorite food is definitely Thai; people are frequently smiling and very polite; beautiful scenery everywhere; cheap transportation; cheap to get to from Korea; cheap clothes; great place to get clothes custom made.

What I didn’t: the popularity of some parts sees the influx of tourists, therefore its harder just to land and look for accommodation.

Quick travel tips: see bioluminescent plankton near Krabi, eat any and all Thai food (for breakfast, lunch and dinner), drink avocado shakes (cheap and delicious); go crazy shopping in Chiang Mai; see long necked Karen tribe in Chiang Mai; go scuba diving or snorkeling; bring cash and book lodging for a little while (you’ll get discounted rates); go surfing during the summer season; winter season is still hot, so visit then too.
