    Top 10 photographs from 2016

Year 2016 was a year full of photographic accomplishments. Even though I’ve been heavily involved with this hobby for about 6 years, it’s always exciting what new ideas, projects and opportunities come my way. Let’s see what top 10 images I’ve chosen from this year and how they have helped me grow as a photographer and an artist. In February of 2016, my husband and I were very elated to welcome his dad (my father in law) to Korea. It was his first trip away from North America

Uselessly Useful Daejeon Facts – Part 1

As a result of living in one city for a while, you begin to acquire some bits of information which may be helpful to some, but useless to others. Here are some uselessly useful facts about living in Daejeon, South Korea: There is a super helpful service Go Wonderfully, which calls itself your personal assistant in Korea. What can it do? Order food, concert tickets, make reservations, shop for you, reserve travel, just to name a few. You can exercise at most of Daejeon’s parks

The LOVE Project: Korean Traditional Wedding Ceremony

This week’s LOVE Project features a very special, but completely unexpected event, which was a part of Daejeon’s Donghcundang Park’s 20th Cultural Festival. A traditional wedding ceremony, featuring yours truly and her less thrilled (actual) husband, took place on Saturday, April 22, 2016 from 2:30-3:30 pm. The day started with us getting ready, which involved three layers of clothing for me and two for Garrett. We’re taller and larger than typical Koreans, so getting into sh

    Traditional Wedding in Korea

After living in Korea for 6 years, I’ve finally had the opportunity to witness a traditional Korean wedding (I’ve been to plenty of Wedding Hall Factory weddings, where you’re in and out in under an hour). The best part was that I was even able to photograph it and share these wonderful memories with my friend Venus and her husband Huiung. For this wonderful occasion, one of her sisters, grandmother and grandfather were able to attend all the way from Canada! Her sister wore

    Portrait: Laura in Hanbok

I’ve been planning and dreaming about this shoot for weeks! The most important part was to find a Hanbok (in case you don’t know it, it’s Korea’s traditional dress, still worn at Weddings and other big occasions, including your baby’s 1st Birthday). Luckily, a friend of mine has one and was happy to let me borrow it for the shoot. Typically worn by Koreans, I decided to approach it from a different perspective and asked a fellow friend to pose in it. Laura, who posed with her
